Last night I had the pleasure of attending DC Fashion Week Industry Night downtown on Connecticut Avenue...and what an experience it was! I will start off with the bad just to get it out the way...
The venue is small, definitely too small for the amount of people crammed in there. Then, there was the muggy hot air. I mean I literally walked in and started sweating...it kind of reminded me of the sweat box house parties me and my girls used to go to in college (TUMF WOO HOO). Anyway, then there was the sheet curtain back drop that was supposed to act as a stage background? I'm not sure, but it looked like it was put together 2 hours before the doors opened. Besides those little dings, the night was successful for myself and others that were looking to network on the DC Fashion scene.
Below I have a few of the outfits that I loved the most of the night. DC has so much culture and is so chic when you get down to the nitty gritty and get around some of the right people. Mind you, its no 34th & 7th Avenue, but we do rock our own style...Welcome to DC!
I love the way his bow tie is made from blocks I believe, maybe legos? I'm not sure but his style is dope! I recognized him from following his IG! Go follow him! @Ethnicity_Designs! I loved this girls hair cut! It reminded me of how I had mine cut in college (except it was longer) Besides that, her peplum style skirt with the casual black blazer was put together nicely...of course finished off with personality frames!
How about her white fluff sweater with mesh shoulders? I loved it!
This guy was very nicely dressed, very handsome with a little boy face...very GQ! Go sign with an agency!! His name is Howard Daniel and he is a model currently attending Howard University.
The young lady on the left was by far my favorite of the night! Her bob and her all black ensemble was the definition of chic, sexy & classy!! Love love loveeee the bob! You go girl! Follow her blog its amazing! She features fashion styles for "fashionistas on a budget"! My kinda blog! www.thebobbedbrunette.com
Big hair, septum piercings & tatoos...love!
